CREATIVE WRITING
In June 2026, I was awarded the Great Northern Read Award by New Writing North for my debut novel, The Fox at the Door – "an engrossing and beautifully observed novel, with a dark mystery at its heart", Anna Power, Managing Director, Johnson & Alcock.
Awarded to emerging writers of gripping, page-turning fiction with an emphasis on immersive storytelling and compelling writing, the award included a bespoke mentoring programme from Johnson & Alcock and talent development support from New Writing North.
The Fox at the Door was also selected for the Greene Door Project in 2025. Designed to help increase diversity in the publishing industry, The Greene Door Project offers ten writers each year an opportunity to meet with a literary agent at Greene & Heaton for one-to-one feedback.
